I am a Year 8 student at Saint Pius X Catholic School in Auckland, NZ. I am in the SPX Nu'u Learning Space and my teachers are Mrs Tui and Mrs Lauchlan.
I certainly agree that you will definitely need to bring a backpack with you to bike the Tongariro crossing. I was actually supposed to do it myself last year but then my partner hurt his knee and wasn't able to go so we have put it off until next year.
I suspect that we will bring plenty of snacks when we go as it takes the whole day to walk from one end of the track to the other. Some of my favourite snacks to take on a hike include almonds, yoghurt-covered raisins and licorice allsorts. What kind of snacks would you take?
Hope that you get the chance to do the Tongariro crossing one day. Apparently, the view from the top of the mountain is spectacular!
