I think that bullfighting should be banned in Spain because:
1.I think that bullfighting should be banned because you are killing them and that is not nice to round them up and treat them like that because they should just go let them go out into the jungle and let them be free and just don't mess with them.

2.The other reason I think that bullfighting should be banned is that it is not a smart idea and you will get killed and if you get injures then that is not their fault because you're the one that chose to do it.

  1. Hi Jerome,

Thanks for posting such a thoughtful and thought provoking post about bullfighting. It is a very controversial sport and a lot of people are very strongly against it. Like you, I agree that it should be banned. It seems really cruel to subject animals to a fight in a ring that usually ends in death.

I think that you have also raised a great point about the bullfighters. They are at risk of grave injuries and, possibly, even death. In fact,52 matadors have reportedly been killed in Spain since the sport started in 1700. Tragic...

On a lighter note, I love that you have been such an awesome blogger. I see that you are already at Day #9. WOW! I will look forward to reading each of your posts.

Bye for now! I'm off to read your post for Day #3.

    Cheers,
    Rachel

  3. Kia ora Jerome,

Wow! You have been super busy over the holidays on your Summer Learning Journey, and it looks like I have a lot of amazing blogs to catch up on. Well done!

Thank you for sharing your opinion on bullfighting Jerome, I enjoyed reading your reasons for banning the sport. I thought they were both well thought out and nicely written.

I have to agree with you as well Jerome. Whilst it is important to always be respectful of other countries cultures and traditions. I think it is important not to condone any kind of activity that encourages animal abuse like bullfighting does! I like that you have thought about this issue from both the perspective of the bull and the fighter. Well done!

    Cheers,
    Dan.

P.S. I've just seen that you are finished your Summer Learning Journey! That is amazing! You should be very proud of yourself, because I know all of us at the SLJ team are super proud of you and all the others for writing such amazing blogs throughout the holidays. I can't wait to catch up on them all :-)
